Chito-Ryu is a traditional Okinawan style of karate founded by Dr. Tsuyoshi Chitose (1898-1984). His art was transmitted to Hanshi William Dometrich starting in 1951. Our dojo (school) is sanctioned by the United States ChitoKai Federation, and emphasizes traditional training methods. We focus on developing students of budo to promote health, citizenship and personal growth.

“Always seek perfection of character in your training. For the serious student, martial arts training must be a twenty-four hour a day task. Be faithful, refrain from violent behavior, and never loose your beginner's mind. Remember Bujutsu is primarily about fighting... Budo on the other hand is about seeking enlightenment and becoming a better person through martial arts training.”
